A famous offshoot of its’ big brother in Pennsylvania, Woodward Tahoe is an action-sport athlete's dream come true. A longstanding training ground for many of the industries most celebrated athletes, a Camp Woodward experience is a long way from singing around the campfire. Located at the top of Donner Pass next to Boreal on Boreal Ridge Rd., any experience at Camp Woodward will leave you with better skills and an eagerness to continue your progression.
Originally opening its’ doors in July of 2011, Woodward Tahoe offers both winter and summer programs for a whole bevy of activities. As it's known at Woodward, The Bunker is the one of the main features of this camp comprising most, if not all, of their winter offerings. The Bunker is an enormous indoor facility that has the means to allow its occupants to practice just about any action-sport imaginable; The Bunker even has a mega-trampoline and foam-pit that permits people to go as big as they want in their practice sessions. For those interested, Woodward Tahoe sells a Bunker Pass that allows entry and full use of facilities from August 17th to April 14th.
During the summer, Woodward Tahoe takes over Boreal and builds some serious training grounds for tomorrow’s elite athletes. Weeklong, in-residence camps are offered specializing in BMX, Freeski, Snowboard, skateboard, cheer/tumble, and digital media. Woodward differs from other summer camps because it has the facilities to push your performance to the next level. If you’re not getting that trick in the park, your coach/counselor can take you to the foam pit and teach you how to commit to the necessary moves. Likewise, the gymnastics and digital media programs go hand-in-hand with the action sports arena already on-tap.
Woodward Tahoe offers summer camps and the Bunker Pass, but they also have the capacity for specialized coaching and mentorship. The Woodward coaching staff will supervise most sessions, but it’s not uncommon for the pros to take part and engage in the training as well. If you or anyone in your family wants to up their game for next season--or this season for that matter—go pay Woodward Tahoe a visit…
