Far from being an independent bastion of Tahoe culture, we’ve still learned to appreciate our little ol’ South Shore Taco Bell. From the bargain menu to new and excitingly options, Taco Bell seems poised to continue down its’ path of worldwide Mexican fast-food domination. Our local chapter, at 2681 Lake Tahoe Blvd., is certainly part of the franchises wolf-pack, but it still retains heaps of "south of the border" charm.
Just released and getting lots of publicity, Taco Bell has begun selling breakfast for the first time since its’ founding on March 21, 1962. Perhaps under the radar, but arguably my favorite thing about this chain is the “happier-hour” menu. From 2-5pm daily, you can go to Taco Bell and get a medium drink and/or any loaded griller for just a dollar a piece—my favorite is the ‘loaded potato’ griller; sometimes I’ll binge eat them at 4: 55pm…
