Lake Tahoe Golf Course (18 holes par 71)
Nestled in the mountains just out of sight of Lake Tahoe, the Lake Tahoe Golf Course is Tahoe's most affordable championship golf course. Green fees are typically much less than $100. The course was designed by William F. Bell (Billy Bell Jr.) who has created more than 80 golf courses around the world. This may be why there is an imperceptible undulation to the surface that will give your ball an unexpected break. At first glance the course appears to be completely flat, but don't be fooled. This is the most walkable championship course in Tahoe, because there is so little change in elevation. The course is wide open with fewer trees than many other Tahoe courses. It is located next to a nature preserve, so it is common to see coyotes dodging golf balls. The Truckee river passes through the middle of the course, and there is an Osprey that likes to hunt in the lake by hole nine. This course is considered challenging for players of all levels and has a driving range and an area to practice putting.
