Lake Forest Public Boat Ramp
Just up the road from the Lake Forest Beach Park is this well-maintained Public Access Boat Ramp. The launch is located a mere 1.5 miles east of Tahoe City, just off of Hwy. 28, on Lake Forest Road. There's a wide parking lot, with plenty of room to turn around and back down to the launch.
The most recent information on fees is from 2012, when they were $15 per use. Six-month (May 15-September 30) and 12-month (January-December) passes are available for purchase, with slightly lower prices for TCPUD residents. Passes may be purchased at the Tahoe City PUD office, 221 Fairway Drive, Tahoe City (the street just up above the Chevron station on the west end of town).
In addition to launch fees, the TRPA charges an inspection fee for vessels entering Lake Tahoe (to identify and remove invasive species from vessels coming from out of the area). To find out more about TRPA's boat inspection fees, you may call 1-888-824-6267, or visit http://tahoeboatinspections.com.
With Lake Forest Beach Park right down the road from the Boat Ramp, all of your summer boating and aquatic pleasures are easily combined. During the winter months, enjoy sunny moments on the pier or near-deserted shore, as well as the hiking, birdwatching, and dog walking to be found down Lake Forest Road, off the beaten path.
