Flight Deck Restaurant & Bar
One of my favorite local vestiges of unpretentious bar-going, the Flight Deck is full of surprises--and upon visiting--can easily become part of your weekly routine. With a ridiculous view of Freel Peak and the airport runway, The Flight Deck has awesome vistas coupled with reasonably priced eat and drink specials. Located at 1901 Airport Road at the South Tahoe Airport, Flight Deck is a down-home bar that is comfortable and just what you need after a long flight, or an even longer day at work.
With sports playing and beer flowing, it won't take long to feel right at home at The Flight Deck. However, to assume this establishment to be ”just another bar” would be incorrect, as the food is some of the best pub-fare I’ve ever had. Much of it made in-house, the cuisine at The Flight Deck is prepared when you order it—as opposed to coming out of an oversized freezer bag.
An absolute must try, and a local’s secret—make a special request for the sea salt & vinegar chicken wings: you won’t be disappointed! Also, my favorite—the clam chowder is made completely from scratch and is easily the tastiest bowl of chowda’ available in South Shore.
If time is limited, and you want to experience The Flight Deck in all its glory, stop by on a Thursday evening for “kill the keg night.” For just a meager $5 bill, you receive a bottomless beer cup that is good until the keg of the night is empty. Some weeks this means Budweiser, and some weeks this means Sierra—but no matter what kind of beer is on tap—the deal is outstanding…
