Bijou Golf Course (9 holes, less than $20)
With green fees less than $20, this city golf course is one of Tahoe's most economical golfing options. Originally built in 1920, it is Tahoe's oldest golf course. In its early days, cattle would graze on the course while people played golf. These days the cattle are gone, but the people keep coming back. Because of the gently sloping terrain, the course is a little more challenging than most 9 hole courses. You get a magnificent unimpeded view of mountains, but even though the course is quite close to Lake Tahoe, the view of the lake is obstructed by buildings. There are nets to practice driving and a practice area for putting. There is no need to make reservations. The course is centrally located, less than a mile from El Dorado Beach, the County Library and the Ice Arena.
